Extended Vision Reading Glasses are custom-made reading glasses that use digitally surfaced lenses to provide clear focus across a range of distances — not just one fixed point like traditional readers. EV6 lenses are optimized for 18 inches to 6 feet, making them ideal for computer and desk use.
Do I need a prescription to order Extended Vision™ Reading Glasses?+
No prescription is needed. EV Readers are available in standard reading powers from +1.00 to +3.00. You do need to know your pupillary distance (PD), which you can measure at home.
I have a prescription. Can I use my Rx to order Custom Rx Extended Vision Reading Glasses?+
Yes. We offer Custom Rx EV lenses that combine your prescription with our extended vision technology, giving you the benefits of EV Readers with your full vision correction built in.
When do I wear Extended Vision™ Readers?+
EV6 Readers are designed for indoor workspace use — computers, phones, books, and anything on your desk. Clear from 18 inches to 6 feet. If you need to see across a room, consider EV20. For outdoor and distance use, EVinfinity.
Do EV Readers have a narrow sweet spot like progressive readers?+
No. Unlike progressives, EV Readers provide a wide field of clear vision without the narrow sweet spot that requires head-tilting. You can look naturally across your entire workspace without adjusting your head position.
Why are EV Readers so expensive compared to drugstore readers?+
EV Readers are custom-made to your measurements using digitally surfaced lenses — the same technology used in premium prescription progressives. They come with premium anti-reflective coatings, are handcrafted in California, and include a 1-year scratch warranty. They are not drugstore readers.
