Computer glasses are focused for screen distance, about 20 to 26 inches away according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, farther out than a book. Some are single-distance lenses set for the monitor. Others are multifocal and cover the whole desk. Our EV6 computer glasses hold clear focus from 18 inches to 6 feet, so your phone, keyboard, monitor and the person across the desk are all in range. You order your reading power. No prescription is needed.

Computer glasses for the whole desk
A desk holds several distances at once: the phone in your hand, the keyboard, the monitor and the person across from you. EV6 puts your reading power at the bottom of the lens and eases it off as you look up, so each of those sits in focus where your eyes already go.
It stops at six feet. That gives it the widest corridor we make, sharp nearly edge to edge, so you can look across the screen without moving your head to find focus.

Digitally surfaced
The curves for your power are cut into a single lens blank by computer-guided equipment, accurate to a hundredth of a diopter.
A full stack of coatings
An anti-reflective layer stops the bounce-back glare. Oleophobic and hydrophobic layers keep fingerprints and water from sticking. A hard coat protects against scratches.
Edged for your frame
A multi-axis edger cuts each lens so the power sits exactly in front of your pupils in the frame you chose. We inspect the lens at every stage. If we find a blemish, we start over with a fresh blank.

What are computer glasses?
Glasses focused for screen distance, about 20 to 26 inches. Single-distance versions are set for the monitor. Multifocal versions such as EV6 also cover your phone and the room near the desk.
Do I need a prescription for computer glasses?
Not for EV6. You order your reading power, from +1.00 to +2.75. If you wear prescription glasses, choose Custom Rx and we make EV6 to your prescription.
Are computer glasses the same as blue light glasses?
No. Computer glasses have focusing power for screen distance. Blue light glasses filter light and have no focusing power of their own. The American Academy of Ophthalmology says computer glasses for eye strain are not the same as blue light glasses.
How long do they take?
About two weeks to make, once we have your PD (and your prescription, if you chose Custom Rx). Shipping is free and takes about three days in the US.
What if they aren’t right for me?
You have 30 days from delivery to return them for a full refund, with a prepaid label. Within 60 days we’ll remake the lenses at no charge if the power or measurements need adjusting, or exchange them for a different frame style, color or lens option. Start any of these through the contact form.
