Yes, you can get progressive reading glasses without a prescription. They’re made for people who see clearly at a distance and need help up close. You order a reading power, from +1.00 to +2.75, the same number you’d pick for drugstore readers. EVinfinity™, our progressive reader, eases that power off all the way to the horizon. EV6™ stops at 6 feet for a workspace and EV20™ at 20 feet for the house, which gives them wider corridors.

The strength you’d use to read a book or your phone up close, from +1.00 to +2.75 in quarter steps. If you wear drugstore readers now, start with their number. Order your reading power for every range, including EV6 for the computer. The power eases off toward the top of the lens, where your screen sits.
- Your PD
Your pupillary distance, in millimeters. It centers the lenses in front of your pupils. The PD tool measures it at home in about a minute. You can send it after you order.
- A range
EV6 for a desk, EV20 for the house and office, EVinfinity for driving and outdoors. Pick your range explains how each one is made.

It covers your phone, keyboard, monitor and the person across the desk. It stops at six feet, so it has the widest corridor we make.

20 inches to 20 feet
It reaches from a book in your lap to the far side of the room, for moving around the house or the office.
About EV20EVinfinity
Near vision and all the way out
It has reading power at the bottom and clear distance through the top, for driving and time outdoors. Its corridor is narrower than EV6’s, closer to a standard progressive.

We digitally surface, coat and edge the lenses in California. Shipping is free and takes about three days.

Digitally surfaced
The curves for your power are cut into a single lens blank by computer-guided equipment, accurate to a hundredth of a diopter.
A full stack of coatings
An anti-reflective layer stops the bounce-back glare. Oleophobic and hydrophobic layers keep fingerprints and water from sticking. A hard coat protects against scratches.
Edged for your frame
A multi-axis edger cuts each lens so the power sits exactly in front of your pupils in the frame you chose. We inspect the lens at every stage. If we find a blemish, we start over with a fresh blank.

Frequently asked questions
Do they make progressive reading glasses?
Yes. They’re made in a reading power, the same number as a drugstore reader. EVinfinity is our progressive reader that reaches all the way out. EV6 and EV20 are optimized for shorter ranges with wider corridors. On L&F frames, EV6 starts at $220, EV20 at $245 and EVinfinity at $270.
Are non-prescription progressive readers the same as progressive glasses from an eye doctor?
Both have power that changes down the lens. A prescription progressive also corrects your distance vision at the top of the lens. Non-prescription progressive readers and EV Readers are for people whose distance vision is already clear. If you wear prescription glasses, EV6 and EV20 come with Custom Rx.
Which reading power should I order?
Order the power you’d use to read a book or your phone up close. That full power sits at the bottom of the lens. The lens eases it down for your screen and the room. If you already wear drugstore readers, their number is your starting point. Which power to order walks through it.
What is PD and how do I measure it?
PD, or pupillary distance, is the distance in millimeters between the centers of your pupils. We use it to center the lenses in front of your eyes. Our PD tool measures it at home from a photo. You can send it after you order.
Can I use my prescription instead?
Yes, on EV6 and EV20. Choose Custom Rx as the power and upload your prescription. We make the lenses to it.
What if they aren’t right for me?
You have 30 days from delivery to return them for a full refund, with a prepaid label. Within 60 days we’ll remake the lenses at no charge if the power or measurements need adjusting, or exchange them for a different frame style, color or lens option. Start any of these through the contact form.
