The short answer
Lens & Frame Co. makes Ombraz prescription eyeglasses. Choose the Ombraz style and fit. We make your lenses to order in our California lab. They come single vision or progressive, with clear lenses or our Indoor / Outdoor lens tint option. That option is clear indoors and becomes grey polarized sun lenses outdoors. Ombraz frames are held on by a cord, so nothing presses on your ears.
Indoor / Outdoor
One Ombraz pair for inside and out
Our Indoor / Outdoor lens tint option suits Ombraz well. The lenses are clear at your desk and darken to grey polarized sun lenses outside. They block UV and blue light all the time. It adds $100.
Behind a windshield they darken only partly. If you drive a lot in the sun, a dedicated pair of Ombraz prescription sunglasses is the better choice for the car.

Ombraz fit and lenses
- Wear them loose
Armless glasses don’t need to sit tight. Loose is more comfortable and keeps them from fogging.
- Strong prescriptions
Thicker lenses sit a little closer to your lashes. High Index 1.67 keeps them thinner.
- Current and older frames
Current Ombraz frames are TR90 nylon. Older V1 frames were acetate. Lenses cut for one may not fit the other.

Digitally surfaced
Computer-guided equipment cuts the curves for your prescription into a single lens blank, accurate to a hundredth of a diopter.
A full stack of coatings
An anti-reflective layer stops bounce-back glare. Oleophobic and hydrophobic layers keep fingerprints and water from sticking. A hard coat goes on last to resist scratches.
Edged for your frame
A multi-axis edger cuts each lens so your correction sits exactly in front of your pupils in the frame you chose. We inspect every lens at every stage. If we find a blemish, we start over with a fresh blank.

Can I get Ombraz with progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive Ombraz eyeglasses come with clear or Indoor / Outdoor lenses.
What is the Indoor / Outdoor option?
It’s our light-responsive lens. Your lenses are clear indoors and darken to grey polarized sun lenses outdoors. They block UV and blue light all the time. It’s a $100 option on prescription eyeglasses, single vision or progressive.
Can you put prescription lenses in Ombraz I already own?
Yes. Prescription eyeglass lenses for an Ombraz frame you own start at $340. We email a prepaid label to send us the frame.
What prescription do you need?
Any licensed eye doctor’s eyeglass prescription works. Upload a photo or PDF when you order, or send it later from the link we email you. A contact lens prescription measures something different, so we can’t use one. Our team reviews every prescription before we start.
How long does it take?
About two weeks to make your lenses, counted from when we have your prescription and PD. Shipping is free and takes about three days. Faster shipping can’t shorten production.
What’s your return and remake policy?
Return them within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Within 60 days we’ll remake your lenses at no charge for any reason, or exchange them into a different frame style or color. Scratched lenses are remade once, free, within the first year.
