Few things are as irritating as having your glasses fog up and blur your vision.

As fellow eyeglass wearers, we'd like to offer you a couple remedies that we use to prevent our own lenses from fogging.  The best part is that you can use stuff that you are likely to find in any kitchen or bathroom:

Dishwashing soap or shaving cream.

Yes, that's right. All you need to do is rub a small drop of translucent dishwashing soap (not a "creamy" dish soap) or a touch of shaving cream on your lenses.

As they say, a little dab will do, so use just enough to coat the lenses but not to drench them.  Gently dry your lenses with a clean microfiber cloth. You want to leave a little soapy residue on your lenses, so don't wipe them totally clean.  The residue from the soap or shaving cream will create a clear barrier that will prevent your lenses from fogging.  Re-apply as necessary.  And please don't use paper towels or tissues. Their fibers can be abrasive on your lenses.

If your glasses are fogging while you're wearing a face mask, it's probably because there is a gap between your face and the top of your mask. This gap acts like a funnel which can pipe your warm, moist breath straight up to your lenses.  Each time you exhale, your warm breath fogs up your lenses.

The solution is to close this gap so your warm breath cannot escape upwards onto your lenses.  Try to wear your mask a little higher on your nose bridge and let your glasses rest on top of the mask.  The weight of your glasses will press down on your mask and close off the gap.  Your lenses won't fog if your warm breath can't exhale onto your lenses.

Give these tips a try. We're sure you'll be seeing better in no time.  And click here to learn how to clean and disinfect your glasses.
