The short answer
Progressive reading glasses that are clear on top have no magnification in the upper part of the lens, so the distance stays sharp, with reading power added toward the bottom. Our EVinfinity readers are built that way, for driving and time outdoors. They’re made for people whose distance vision is clear without glasses. If you need correction to see far, choose progressive prescription glasses.
How EVinfinity works
Distance through the top, reading at the bottom
Look straight ahead through EVinfinity and there’s no magnification, so the road or the trail stays as sharp as it is without glasses. Look down and reading power is added progressively toward the bottom of the lens, for your phone, a map or a menu.
EVinfinity reaches all the way out, so its corridor is narrower than our indoor ranges, closer to a standard progressive. For a desk, EV6™ gives you more width.

18 inches to 6 feet
It covers your phone, keyboard, monitor and the person across the desk. It stops at six feet, so it has the widest corridor we make.
About EV6EV20
20 inches to 20 feet
It reaches from a book in your lap to the far side of the room, for moving around the house or the office.
About EV20EVinfinity
Near vision and all the way out
It has reading power at the bottom and clear distance through the top, for driving and time outdoors. Its corridor is narrower than EV6’s, closer to a standard progressive.

The power you’d use to read a book, from +1.00 to +2.75. Add your PD, which you can measure at home in about a minute.
We make them in about two weeks
We digitally surface, coat and edge the lenses in California. Shipping is free and takes about three days.

Are there reading glasses that are clear on top?
Yes. EVinfinity, our progressive reader, has no magnification at the top for distance and reading power at the bottom.
Can I combine distance and reading glasses in one pair?
If your distance vision is clear without glasses, EVinfinity combines clear distance at the top with reading power at the bottom. If you need correction for distance, progressive prescription eyeglasses combine both, from $465.
Can I drive in EVinfinity?
EVinfinity is made for driving if you see clearly at a distance without glasses. If you need glasses to see far, choose prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses for driving.
Is EVinfinity good for the computer?
EV6 is the better fit for a desk. Its corridor is much wider than EVinfinity’s because it stops at six feet.
What if they aren’t right for me?
You have 30 days from delivery to return them for a full refund, with a prepaid label. Within 60 days we’ll remake the lenses at no charge if the power or measurements need adjusting, or exchange them for a different frame style, color or lens option. Start any of these through the contact form.
